Radhika Apte was critically acclaimed for her role in Sacred Games, the Netflix Original starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and others. She is now part of another Indian horror web series on Netflix, titled Ghoul. The web series is the collaboration of BlumHouse and Phantom Films, making this the first time that Jason Blum has coordinated with an Indian production company.
The first teaser trailer of the web series was launched a while ago and it all promises to be one of the most unique horror experiences in an Indian set up. A mysterious man is brought in by the authorities for interrogation, but things go haywire and everyone in the interrogation crew is now a target – and a vulnerable one at one. Along with Radhika, Manav Kaul, Ratnabali Banerjee, Mahesh Balraj and Malhar Goenka play important roles in the web series. There’s some buzz that the web series is about a set of aliens, or at least one alien being among the number of people who are being called in for interrogation. The teaser trailer and poster has set the pace for dark, dreary web series that will hit Netflix soon. Watch the trailer here:
Radhika Apte has been active in the short film circuit since a while now. She was part of the short film Ahalya and later on, she played an interesting role in Kriti, another psychological thriller web series. Prison horror is a very new concept for Indian audiences, and it will be interesting to see how they react to this genre of horror. Of course, the it’s the existence of a global audience that matters at the end of the day, but the horror followers in India are definitely waiting for this series to hit their streaming scenes in a hurry. This becomes the next web series that Netflix and Phantom will be making together after the tremendous success of the first time that they collaborated, on Sacred Games.
